What is the Pediatric Outreach Therapy Program?
The Pediatric Outreach Therapy Program is a new publicly funded program designed to support gaps in therapy services for children in remote, rural, and underserved communities across BC. We partner with local agencies to offer services that support children with developmental delays in their home and community. In Haida Gwaii, our partner agency is North Coast Community Services.
We have a travelling team of therapists who specialize in working with kids. Our team consists of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, and a behaviour consultant. We travel to Haida Gwaii 3-4 times throughout the year and offer virtual services when we are not in community. If any families have questions about their child’s development, we would be happy to help!
NCCS Referral Form: this is how families can access our program – it goes through North Coast Community services, and then they send the referrals our way.
